What is Google Ads?
Google Ads is the advertising platform that is owned by Google. It was initially launched in 2000 as Google AdWords.
Advertisers can create ad campaigns with Google Ads using a variety of objectives, campaign types, targeting options, and ad formats.
Where can Google ads appear?
Google Search, YouTube, Google Partner websites, Google Display Network, Play Store, Gmail, etc.
How it works?
It works on a concept called Google Auction.
Real-Time Auction: happens every time a user searches for something
Whether your ad wins the auction and Which slot it will get will depend on your AD RANK.
What is Ad Rank?
It is a value that determines the position of your ad on Google's search results page.
Ad Rank depends on 3 things:
Bid Amount
Quality Score
Ad Formats
What is the Bid Amount?
This is the maximum amount you are willing to pay for a user to click on your ad and visit your site or landing page.
You can set this bid amount on the platform. This is similar to the Bid Cap on Facebook Ads.
What is a Quality Score?
Quality Score is a rating between 1-10 that Google gives you for each keyword that you use for an ad.
A high-quality Score means that Google's algorithm thinks your ad and landing page are relevant and useful to someone looking at your ad.
The three factors that influence your quality score:
Click-through rate (CTR)
Landing page Experience
Ad Relevance
What is an Ad Format?
Ad formats include different extensions that you can use along with the primary copy of your ad. The more relevant extensions you use, the higher your chances of ranking at the top.
For example, using various ad extensions, like a site link on your website, your address, or your phone number, may serve to bolster your Ad rank.
